About Hall Counseling

About Us

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Texas. I earned my bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of St. Thomas and my masters in Marriage & Family Counseling from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. I minored in Spiritual Formation and have a formal discipleship training approach. I am working towards specializing in Theraplay with children and adults.

I counsel from a biblical perspective which combines spiritual formation and a variety of therapeutic approaches such as attachment theory, family systems, and cognitive- behavioral therapy. I believe that God is the ultimate healer and that He uses each one of us in unique ways to demonstrate his love and compassion. Change is a process and it takes time. It is my desire to be an empathic support and guide in that process. I have a holistic perspective and recognize that the mind, body and spirit are connected. Therefore, I like to discuss nutrition, exercise, stress-management and faith. I work collaboratively with my clients to create realistic goals to help them achieve a sense of accomplishment.

I am also very passionate about formal discipleship with young women. I have been on staff at churches for the last 10 years and guiding young women towards a closeness with God and an awareness of themselves has been a joy. I love working with parents and helping them have a healthy attachment with their children. I work with people of all ages from newborns to adults.

I am a native Houstonian but recently lived in Southeast Asia for the last two years. I have an amazing Godly husband and three beautiful children that I adore. Despite my busy schedule, I love traveling, cooking, reading, running, and I cherish spending time with family/friends.

I am a proud Houstonian, born and raised. I received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Texas A&M University in College Station. While in College Station, I was a YoungLife leader and still love any chance I get to work with high school students. Soon after graduating, I moved back to Houston to start graduate school and have been here ever since. I had the great privilege of completing my Masters in Counseling Ministries at Dallas Theological Seminary among some incredible professors and classmates. During my time at DTS, I was a House Parent at Lifehouse of Houston where we got to navigate the sometimes complicated transition into motherhood with a handful of single women while we lived alongside them and helped support them. I am now a Licensed Professional Counselor - Associate under the supervision of Jennifer Hall, LPC-S. My time with past ministries along with my education has given me experience in working with a wide array of challenges and I would be honored to come alongside you in whatever season you're navigating.

I am passionate about individuals and couples having the opportunity to find healing and growth in any season they are in. In my sessions, I integrate research based counseling methods with a Biblical perspective to strive for holistic healing. My hope is to be a trustworthy support to my clients enabling them to find healing and lasting change. I take great joy in getting to share the life-changing love and grace of God, and believe that ultimately, that is the relationship that true healing comes from. It is a great honor to get to walk alongside clients as they find new freedom, power, and truth through the counseling process.

I am married to my best friend, Derek. We have two lovely boys that keep us very busy, and a wonderful fur baby chocolate lab named Hank. In my free time, I enjoy a good movie, board games with friends, long walks, baking, and quality family time outdoors.

Waco holds my roots, where I learned the values of community and connection. My educational journey took me to College Station, where I immersed myself in Sociology and Psychology. As a cherished graduate of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of '18, I carry the torch of resilience and excellence that defines Aggies.

My heart's calling led me to Houston, where I refined my counseling skills and earned dual Master's degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Family and Marriage Counseling from the University of Houston-Victoria in Katy. My devotion to providing exceptional care is particularly focused on adolescents, adults, and couples wrestling with mental health concerns. I find profound purpose in guiding individuals through life's trials and triumphs, nurturing growth and empowerment.

Beyond my counseling practice, I'm happily married and my husband and I share our lives in the city of Houston. Together, we find joy in all activities outside and love to travel.

My spiritual journey is also central to my life. I'm an active member of 7MR church, where my love for the Lord thrives. This connection shapes my values, guiding me in both my personal and professional endeavors.

I'm also EMDR trained— Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is a transformative approach that I'm excited to offer. This structured method helps patients confront trauma and PTSD by integrating bilateral stimulation, leading to the gradual fading of trauma memories' intensity and associated emotions. Backed by extensive research, EMDR therapy offers hope to those grappling with various challenges, from anxiety and depression to OCD, chronic pain, and addictions.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in the state of Texas. I completed my master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University and earned my bachelor’s of science in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University. I’m experienced in helping clients work through anxiety and depression, life transitions, loss and grief, interpersonal conflict, emotional abuse, and identity work. I have a particular passion for missions, having worked closely with overseas missionaries, and am familiar with the blessing and challenges present in missionary life. I also have experience with faith development and cross-cultural concerns.

I believe Scripture is how God has primarily chosen to speak with us, and therefore, I place His word at the center of my counseling. Building on that foundation, I practice person-centered and cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques in my counseling. I tailor my approach to each counselee based on their unique personality and circumstances.

I’m a native Houstonian, and a wannabe dog owner married to a wannabe cat owner, perpetually locked in a stalemate since my recent marriage. I have been attending Grace Bible Church in the Heights for over two years now and have served as a small group facilitator and in the children’s ministry. I love traveling internationally, trying new foods, and spending time with the people I love.

I am a Practicum Student Counselor pursuing licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist and Professional Counselor, and am in the process of completing my Masters in Counseling at Dallas Theological Seminary. My goal for clients is that we use our therapeutic relationship to generate restoration, healing, health, and hope.

I was born and raised in Katy, TX and studied English at Texas State University. After undergrad I worked for Cru for three years with assignments in Athens, Greece then Charleston, South Carolina. I moved to Houston in 2019 and married my now husband. We welcomed our first child in 2022.

Life is a complex array of experiences and each person is wonderfully unique. There is an interconnected web of moments and connections that contribute to every person I encounter. From stressful events to generational trauma to maladaptive thoughts and behaviors... It can all be overwhelming. I view my role as a guide, partnering with others in their journeys and consider it a privilege to sit with others amidst the complicated reality of living in a very broken world. I seek to facilitate personal growth through an integrated biblical lens with theoretical approaches such as person-centered, existential, family systems, and restoration therapy. Ultimately, I believe that personal enjoyment of God is transformational in all aspects of life – body, mind and spirit – and hope to hold the door open to spark this delight in people.

I am a transported Texan and grew up between the suburbs of Houston and North Dallas. Upon graduation from Texas A&M University, I pursued my passion for championing kids as a fifth-grade teacher. Realizing I spent more time sitting on the floor outside of the classroom processing life with students in crisis – and acknowledging a rising passion for mental health – I left the teaching profession to pursue my Masters in Counseling at Dallas Theological Seminary.

I love being a part of my church family, riding my bike, watching a good movie, and spending time with my people! I look forward to journeying with the clients of Hall Counseling.

Thursdays: 4 - 8 pm

I am passionate about helping individuals of all ages navigate life’s challenges. I love working with kids, using play to teach them emotional regulation skills in a fun and engaging way. The teenage years can be incredibly tough, and I strive to be a safe haven for teens dealing with self-esteem issues, bullying, anxiety, and depression. I also find immense joy in supporting young adults as they search for their place in the world and cope with societal pressures.

My ultimate goal is to empower individuals to embark on a journey of self-discovery, growth, and healing. I offer a safe, nonjudgmental space for you to authentically share your truths. I believe in a holistic approach to therapy, emphasizing the mind-body-spirit connection. As a certified personal trainer, I understand the healing benefits of movement. At Hall Counseling, we have a small gym where I can incorporate physical activity into our sessions if you’re interested.

Whether you’re a child learning to manage your emotions, a teen navigating the turbulent years, or a young adult finding your way in the world, I’m here to support you.

I’m currently a second-year graduate student at Houston Christian University, pursuing a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Originally from South Carolina, I’ve made Houston my home for the past five years with my supportive husband and our two very active children.

Elizabeth Wilmot, LPC

To love at all is to be vulnerable. Our deepest desires are to receive love and also be able to give love, but oftentimes our fears get in the way of our goals of being loved. When we are vulnerable, we face the unknown that could lead to rejection, shame, or trigger us to pain from our past. On the other side of that unknown could also be acceptance, being known, seen and loved. My desire is to walk with you in your journey towards healing where you can begin to allow yourself to experience change that can lead to fully loving yourself, so that you can in return love others. Life will always have ebbs and flows, but learning how to handle the healthy ways of this challenging journey called life makes all the difference. I would love to walk with you to be a part of that difference to help restore you to your authentic identity.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Texas. My passion as a counselor is  working with teenagers processing their developmental years, young adults processing the transition of college and life in general, men struggling with anger, addiction, suicide, faith, and couples navigating their relationship. I am also EMDR trained and love to work with anyone wanting to process trauma from any point in their life. I am also trained in TBRI, which helps children/teenagers and their families from adopted/foster backgrounds navigate their relationships with each other. I integrate faith based counseling for clients wanting faith added into their sessions. I am also Restoration Therapy Level II trained, which I used a lot with couples and with individuals. For couples, I am also trained in Prepare and Enrich as a couples facilitator.

I counsel from an attachment theory lens as well as looking at the family systems and past patterns as a whole. I base my approach off of every individual client, so I use an eclectic approach.

I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Houston and then went on to receive my masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. After graduating, I decided to move back to Houston to continue my work because Houston has always felt like home!
